Meet The Team
The team at Ruff Road Revival is composed entirely of dedicated volunteers who are deeply passionate about the welfare of animals. Many of our team members balance their roles at RRR with part-time or full-time employment, yet consistently give their time and energy to our mission. We are profoundly grateful for the commitment and hard work of each individual who contributes to the success of Ruff Road Revival.

Founder & President
Mikayla Stone
Mikayla has had a deep passion for animals since childhood. With hands-on experience at multiple animal rescues and a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Wildlife Science, she has cultivated a well-rounded expertise in animal care. Her dedication extends beyond companion animals such as cats and dogs— in 2021, Mikayla traveled to South Africa to volunteer for wildlife rehabilitation, spending a month working with a wide range of species, including lions, leopards, rhinos, servals, zebras, birds of prey, and more. When she’s not volunteering, Mikayla is either enjoying quality time with her husband, two rescue dogs, and their two-year-old daughter, or working part-time as a bookkeeper.

Foster Coordinator
Jaide Vidal
Jaide moved to TX from CA after rescuing and adopting her first dog. After moving, she added another rescue pup to the pack and her passion for animal rescue grew. She is a graduate student in behavior analysis, which leads to her being a wonderful foster for our pups that need patience structure and care the most. She started out as a foster for us and quickly connected with our mission which resulted in her becoming our Foster Coordinator. She has been knocking it out of the park since day one. Jaide is extremely proactive and is a vital addition to our rescue.

Taylor Stott
Taylor is a social worker by day, law student and rescue volunteer by night (but let's be real, it takes over her days too)! She lives in SW Oklahoma with her husband, two little boys, a savannah cat named Mocha and a bengal cat named Simon. They enjoy the great outdoors, including hiking, traveling, and going out on the boat! Taylor is a super kind soul. She is always willing to help, regardless how busy she is, and always does so with a cheerful attitude and a kind word. Taylor manages our google sheet and keeps up with all of our medical records and other data entry needs. We love having Taylor on the RRR team!

Vet and Wellness Manager
Johnny Sambataro
Originally from Maryland, Johnny moved to McKinney TX in August 2024. Seeing the crisis that Texas faces every day, he knew he had to be proactive and do something about it. Since moving to Texas, he has spent endless amounts of time volunteering at local shelters, fostering, and transporting dogs all across DFW for the last 8 months. He currently has 1 dog of his own, and his name is Bear. Along with Bear, he currently has two foster puppies and plans to foster and have many more of his own. When he’s not volunteering and helping animals, he’s most likely at the gym or trying new food places in Dallas. Johnny is our Vet and Wellness Manager. He is the go to guy for any medical concerns or approval as well as monthly preventative needs! We are so grateful to have him on our team.

Treasurer
Tarra Caldwell
Tarra's love for animals began in 2019 when she adopted her dog, Roxanne. Today, she is the proud owner of four dogs and two cats, including shelter pups, a stray, and a Walmart parking lot rescue. Tarra has a special bond with animals, often preferring their company to that of most people. She doubles as a wonderful foster as well as our Treasurer. When she’s not volunteering with the rescue or caring for her animals, she enjoys spending quality time with her family. She also works full-time, balancing her busy life with a positive and upbeat attitude. Tarra’s caring nature and positive energy make her a shining light in the RRR family.

Finance and Donations Coordinator
Connor O'Hara
Connor came to the DFW area from Houston. He has been a dog-owner his whole life and loves animals. He has his Bachelor's in Business Administration and owns his own business working alongside individuals with disabilities across North Texas. He has always had a passion for serving and helping people and animals and he is thrilled to contribute to the Ruff Road Revival Mission. Connor is our Finance and Donations Coordinator and we are so grateful to have him!

Adoption Assistant
Rachel Williams
Rachel lives in North Texas with her husband, two young boys, and three dogs. Driven by a deep passion for helping animals, she works diligently to advocate for positive change in local government and culture to promote animal welfare and responsible pet ownership. She assists most often with getting our animals posted for adoption and on the path to finding their permanent home. Rachel is a beacon of positivity, spreading encouragement wherever she goes. With a heart full of kindness, she is always ready to lend a helping hand whenever it’s needed and we are honored to have her as part of the organization.

Adoption Assistant
Suzanne Cunningham
Suzanne is a proud mom of two amazing adult children, Kelli and Kyle, as well as two sweet dogs, Sage and River. She has been happily married to her husband, Michael, for 28 years and works full time as the district nurse for Whitesboro ISD. One of Suzanne's favorite things is to spend time at the beach with her family and pups. She began her fostering journey about a year ago and wanted to branch out into more areas of the rescue world. She assists us with posting pups for adoption and plays an important role in finding them their furrever home. Suzanne is an extremely kind and caring individual and we are blessed to have her on the Ruff Road Revival team.

Keeley Kenefick
Keeley has called the DFW, TX area home for the past five years, surrounded by her own dogs and her foster pups. With a lifelong background in animal care, she is deeply committed to improving the treatment of animals. Keeley has volunteered extensively with other rescues, giving her a comprehensive understanding of the rescue world. She primarily helps us with managing our social media content and ensuring we keep our community up to date on our operations. She is a true asset to the team at Ruff Road Revival, and we are deeply appreciative of everything she does.

Data and Records Assistant/Floater
Elizabeth Bittner
Elizabeth lives in Cleveland, OH, with her fiancé and their rescue pup, Dallas. Throughout her childhood, she worked with numerous rescues and fostered dogs from various backgrounds, gaining valuable experience along the way. She helps us in multiple different areas, primarily focusing on intaking our new animals and getting animals posted for adoption. Elizabeth is happy to be re-engaged with the rescue community, and we are truly thrilled to have her caring and generous spirit as part of the RRR family.

Outreach Assistant
Sarah Penney
Sarah is a pediatric nurse based in the Dallas area with a big heart for both kids and animals. When she’s not caring for little ones at work, she’s soaking up time with her husband and their two adorable pups, Lucy and Sadie. Lucy, the OG fur baby, was adopted by her husband before they met, and Sadie is the newest addition—rescued from a local Dallas rescue and now thriving in her forever home.
Sarah has always had a soft spot for animals. She felt an instant connection with Ruff Road Revival after they stepped in to save a stray dog living near her home. RRR’s efforts left a lasting impression and inspired her to join their mission. With her first human baby on the way this fall, Sarah’s heart (and home) are fuller than ever!

Data and Records Assistant
Mandy Moran
Mandy relocated to Texas from Redondo Beach, CA four years ago, but she was born and raised in New Jersey. She has three daughters who are spread out across the United States. Over the past twenty-five years, Mandy has opened her heart and home to two dogs and five cats as a dedicated rescue mom. As a foster and volunteer, she consistently steps up to take charge when needed and is always eager to assist in any way possible. She helps primarily with intaking our new animals and assisting with any random tasks we throw her way. Her commitment and generosity make her a truly valuable member of the organization.

Adoption Assistant
Neha Singh
Neha came to Ruff Road Revival as a foster originally. She fostered a German Shepherd named Jack who had a very infected wound on his upper inner thigh that needed not one, but two surgeries to debreed the infected tissue, place a drain, and close the wound. Despite him requiring quite a bit of care and it being tough to keep him on crate rest due to his energy levels, Neha took it in stride and ensured Jack was taken care of every step of the way. Throughout the process, they fell in love with Jack and decided to make him a permanent part of the family. She has since helped us some with adoption events and most often assists us with posting animals for adoption on Petfinder. Neha is a wonderful addition to Ruff Road Revival.

Transport Helper/Floater
Torrie Short
Torrie is an avid animal lover, caring for five cats and three large dogs of her own. When she's not working or enjoying time with her husband, three daughters, and two grandchildren, she is busy fostering animals or volunteering her time to manage outreach for Ruff Road Revival. Her youngest daughter, just 12 years old, has a deep love for dogs and played a significant role in inspiring the family's fostering journey. Torrie helps us the most with transporting animals whenever we need it, which is vital when pups have transport pickups in order to make it to their adopters. We are thrilled to have Torrie as part of our organization.
