Meet The Team
The team at Ruff Road Revival is composed entirely of dedicated volunteers who are deeply passionate about the welfare of animals. Many of our team members balance their roles at RRR with part-time or full-time employment, yet consistently give their time and energy to our mission. We are profoundly grateful for the commitment and hard work of each individual who contributes to the success of Ruff Road Revival.

Founder & President
Mikayla Stone
Mikayla has had a deep passion for animals since childhood. With hands-on experience at multiple animal rescues and a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Wildlife Science, she has cultivated a well-rounded expertise in animal care. Her dedication extends beyond companion animals such as cats and dogs— in 2021, Mikayla traveled to South Africa to volunteer for wildlife rehabilitation, spending a month working with a wide range of species, including lions, leopards, rhinos, servals, zebras, birds of prey, and more. When she’s not volunteering, Mikayla is either enjoying quality time with her husband, two rescue dogs, and their two-year-old daughter, or working part-time as a bookkeeper.

Outreach Manager; Adoptions Manager
Carleigh and Dreu Bynum
Carleigh and Dreu have been with Ruff Road Revival from the early days of the rescue, now sharing the roles of Outreach Coordinator and Adoption Manager. They’ve fostered dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities—always focused on providing a safe, loving home until adoption. Beyond fostering, they volunteer for transports, host adoption events, temp foster, deploy a thermal drone to search for lost dogs, and anything else the rescue needs. Their resident pets include rescue dogs, rescue cats, and a hognose snake named Pumbaa, making their home a place full of love (and fur). Carleigh is an IT Audit Senior Manager and Dreu is a Firefighter/Paramedic, both deeply passionate about animal welfare. Their rescue work is dedicated to their soul cat, Midnight—forever loved, never forgotten.

Foster Coordinator
Jaide Vidal
Jaide moved to TX from CA after rescuing and adopting her first dog. After moving, she added another rescue pup to the pack and her passion for animal rescue grew. She is a graduate student in behavior analysis, which leads to her being a wonderful foster for our pups that need patience structure and care the most. She started out as a foster for us and quickly connected with our mission which resulted in her becoming our Foster Coordinator. She has been knocking it out of the park since day one. Jaide is extremely proactive and is a vital addition to our rescue.

Transport Coordinator
Sarah Yeoman-Lomangino
Sarah came to Ruff Road Revival first as a foster after finding an abandoned mama dog. After taking care of her and her litter, we helped her find homes for the final two puppies due to them not getting much adoption interest. Sarah saw our pleas for dedicated team members and reached out to express her interest. She has taken the role of Transport Coordinator by storm and tackled each and every road block with grace. Sarah is a reliable and hard-working member of our team and we are so blessed to have her as a part of Ruff Road Revival.

Adoption Counselor
Amanda Gonsalves
Amanda is a Seattle-ite turned Texan that found her love for RRR when she was looking for a new puppy for her family and came across Ruff Road Revival! A plan to pick up one puppy quickly turned into fostering many other puppies and eventually led her to wanting to help with adoptions. She is a homeschooling mom of 3 kids and 3 dogs, and a nurse who loves all things nature, bread baking and sports! Her new found love for helping find the perfect homes for dogs and cats has been a special journey and she’s grateful to continue helping place all of our pets! Amanda is a true light on our team and we are so happy to have her!

Outreach/Adoption Assistant
Sarah Penney
Sarah is a pediatric nurse based in the Dallas area with a big heart for both kids and animals. When she’s not caring for little ones at work, she’s soaking up time with her husband and their two adorable pups, Lucy and Sadie. Lucy, the OG fur baby, was adopted by her husband before they met, and Sadie is the newest addition—rescued from a local Dallas rescue and now thriving in her forever home.
Sarah has always had a soft spot for animals. She felt an instant connection with Ruff Road Revival after they stepped in to save a stray dog living near her home. RRR’s efforts left a lasting impression and inspired her to join their mission. With her first human baby having recently arrived, Sarah’s heart (and home) are fuller than ever!

Adoption Assistant/Transport Volunteer
Sarah Scott
Sarah is a police officer and a former college athlete. She has always loved animals, starting as a little girl when she would pushed around her stuffed animals in a stroller instead of baby dolls. Prior to her at Ruff Road Revival, she rescued many dogs off the streets of Greenville and even a cat. She chose to join the Ruff Road Revival team to be a part of something bigger than herself and use her passion for animals to help save lives. When Sarah is not at work or assisting us with transport and adoption postings, she is either traveling, riding horses, or spending time with her fiancé and her pups- Bowie, Reba, Freedom and George.

Adoption Assistant
Suzanne Cunningham
Suzanne is a proud mom of two amazing adult children, Kelli and Kyle, as well as two sweet dogs, Sage and River. She has been happily married to her husband, Michael, for 28 years and works full time as the district nurse for Whitesboro ISD. One of Suzanne's favorite things is to spend time at the beach with her family and pups. She began her fostering journey about a year ago and wanted to branch out into more areas of the rescue world. She assists us with posting pups for adoption and plays an important role in finding them their furrever home. Suzanne is an extremely kind and caring individual and we are blessed to have her on the Ruff Road Revival team.

Adoption Counselor
Johnny Sambataro
Originally from Maryland, Johnny moved to McKinney TX in August 2024. Seeing the crisis that Texas faces every day, he knew he had to be proactive and do something about it. Since moving to Texas, he has spent endless amounts of time volunteering at local shelters, fostering, and transporting dogs all across DFW. He currently has 1 dog of his own named Peyton as well as a long-term foster pup named Scout. Every life he has saved is in honor of his pup, Bear, who recently crossed the rainbow bridge. When he’s not volunteering and helping animals, he’s most likely at the gym or trying new food places in Dallas. Johnny is one of our wonderful Adoption Counselors! We are so grateful to have him on our team.

Treasurer
Tarra Caldwell
Tarra's love for animals began in 2019 when she adopted her dog, Roxanne. Today, she is the proud owner of four dogs and two cats, including shelter pups, a stray, and a Walmart parking lot rescue. Tarra has a special bond with animals, often preferring their company to that of most people. She doubles as a wonderful foster as well as our Treasurer. When she’s not volunteering with the rescue or caring for her animals, she enjoys spending quality time with her family. She also works full-time, balancing her busy life with a positive and upbeat attitude. Tarra’s caring nature and positive energy make her a shining light in the RRR family.

Floater
Vanessa Gatten
Vanessa moved to the North Dallas area in Nov. of 2025 with her husband, 2 of their 3 amazing kiddos, 3 dogs and 2 cats. She fostered multiple dogs back in Kansas City, MO and really enjoyed getting to know and also advocate for those organizations and the animals in their care. They weren’t going to let something as small as relocating 600 miles stop them from being involved and helping make a difference in the rescue community! Luckily, she found Ruff Road Revival and we were quick to welcome her to the team! Vanessa works full time from home for a software company, making her a fantastic option to foster any animal, especially those with extra needs. Her biggest downfall….she wants to adopt them all!

Adoption Assistant
Rosa Lopez
Rosa has had a lifelong passion for animals, beginning in early childhood. She is currently attending college with the goal of becoming a veterinarian. Alongside her studies, she works full-time in animal care and volunteers with local animal rescues in her free time. Rosa lives by the quote, “Be what you want to see in the world.” She believes in the importance of regular veterinary care, emphasizing that even when signs aren’t visible, animals can suffer from conditions beyond their control. She is deeply committed to advocating for those who cannot speak for themselves. Rosa is making a huge difference in the world of animals and we are thankful to have her on our team.

Social Media Assistant
Keeley Kenefick
Keeley has called the DFW, TX area home for the past five years, surrounded by her own dogs and her foster pups. With a lifelong background in animal care, she is deeply committed to improving the treatment of animals. Keeley has volunteered extensively with other rescues, giving her a comprehensive understanding of the rescue world. She primarily helps us with managing our social media content and ensuring we keep our community up to date on our operations. She is a true asset to the team at Ruff Road Revival, and we are deeply appreciative of everything she does.
