Meet Starr

Starr is a 7.5-year-old Dachshund with the sweetest soul and the kind of gentle love that only comes with age.

She came to our rescue alongside four other Dachshunds after their beloved owner developed dementia and could no longer care for them. It was a heartbreaking change for dogs who had known one home for so long, but Starr has slowly begun to realize that she's safe—and watching her confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding.

Starr can be a little timid when meeting new people, but once she knows she can trust you, she's all about the cuddles. She absolutely melts into her person and would happily spend her days snuggled up beside you or curled up under a cozy blanket.

One of her most adorable quirks is the happy little tippy taps she does when she's excited. It's impossible not to smile when you see those tiny feet dancing with happiness.
